FFA Plant Sale
Students from the Douglas High Agriculture Programs (FFA) built and have managed the greenhouse for 4 years.  Each student in Mrs. Allyson Lammiman’s and Mr. Jared Hyatt’s classes have worked with the greenhouse.  This year the Carson Valley FFA will proudly hold the 3rd annual plant sale.  Throughout the year students worked diligently to bring up a variety of flowers, including: Petunias, Coleus, Coreopsis, Snapdragons, Ganzia, Primrose, Salvia, Marigolds, and Zinnia. They also have beautiful hanging baskets filled with Petunias.  There will also be vegetables and house plants; all the plants are suitable for Douglas County’s Climate.

So please plan on attending the plant sale May 9th – 11th and 16th – 18th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Support agriculture and the FFA by buying these locally grown plants.

The students also are making hanging baskets for the town of Minden.  These baskets will be placed on the new, black light poles along 395 in downtown Minden.  25 baskets were made by the Floriculture and Plant Science classes; each basket contains 34 Petunias of red, white, and blue.  Plan to see the baskets around town in June.

Please support your local FFA chapter, we are a non-profit organization, and all your support will go towards the greenhouse and the chapter.  The Carson Valley FFA thanks the community for their support.
